In Ways of  Seeing, John Berger says, “The relation between What we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun set. We know that the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight.”

I started out with one of those 1980s pencil case-shaped Kodak 110s when I was a kid and eventually worked my way up to professional photo and video cameras. As much as I love videography, I always find myself going back to the still image as an art form and documentation. From a Visual Rhetoric standpoint, the way pathos presents itself in the still image is always fascinating to me. I like photos that make us react.
