This was a paper I wrote for a graduate history course on sexuality in Western Europe. At one point we began looking at proto-feminism during and after the French Revolution. So I used that as my prompt to explore the role proto-feminism plays in terms of foundational principles, and the rhetorical situation in which they were written, explain how this ultimately leads to First Wave Feminism. I was also taking a class with Dr. Parry, of (McBride/Parry), who really helped me round out the first wave suffragette movements in the U.S. and the U.K.
